I’m sure by now, most of you readers have seen the ads for some web game called Evony. Every web page on the internet has an ad for Evony in fact, so you can’t have missed them, right? Here – if you don’t recognize them, I vow to punch myself in the gonads.

Well I’m sick of seeing them. The ads have nothing to do with some game where you build little medieval cities, unless you build little medieval cities on top of boobs.
Can they get any more ridiculous, exploitative, and unrelated? Yes, yes they can.

They actually have a deal where, if you spam other websites with ads for this shitty game, they give you in-game rewards. And, as far as Strategy-based MMOs, this one is particularly boring. I played it for a while, got completely bored with it, and didn’t get too upset when someone destroyed my city. And yeah, there’s a definite lack of boobage in the game.
Boobs will sell anything. Didn’t you know?
Hahaha, yes I’ve seen these and they’re effing annoying.
Also, muahahahahaha, witness the mighty power of boobs, before which you are as helpless as kittens. Muahahahahahahaa!
The other thing that was really fucking lame was that they actually charged you to talk on their in-game chat service. Ugh. The more I think of it, the more annoyed I am by the whole thing. Age of Empires should sue them for stealing their game engine and ruining it.
I have seen these ads a million times, but never realized they were for a game. I just assumed it was for something porn-related and, therefore, I ignored it because porn is bad and against Jesus.
That midget is making me want to go and rub one out.
I was ignoring them until I found out there were midget strippers on the pole!
Shame on you!
He said POLE
It is not just the nasty marketing. Evony could well be malware: http://www.bruceongames.com/2009/07/16/is-evony-malware/
For once I’d like to see some half naked man on an ad. I mean my God, I have needs too.
I want to tell that midget to GET IN MA BELLY!
I am sure these ads are highly effective on their target audience. Jr High boys.
